Mark Allan Atwood 10/30/10

About a week before this event, Marks gig for this date was cancelled and he was in need of a venue. Armed with our newly acquired B & W license and an available date and venue, we proceeded to get in contact with Mark and try and set something up, and WOW!...are we glad we did! Mark and his newly formed band "Brimstone" were absolutely PHENOMENAL!!! I have never been much of a C&W fan, but if all bands sounded like they did that night, I would definately consider switching over to the dark side! Though the crowd was not what we would have hoped for, the people who did experience the show on this night were treated to something very special. For those of you who weren't...well, all I can say is you missed out. We will have Mark and the guys back out very soon, and hopefully on a regular basis. If you get the chance to come and see them, please do, you will not regret it!!!

Yay!!!! Its time to get this party started!

Ok, so its been awhile since we posted anything. Life is crazy and I dont see any sanity in the future, so we will just move forward. After an almost 60 day hiatus from the event scene we have officially had our final interview with the TABC and are just awaiting our paperwork to finalize so we can be issued our Beer & Wine License. Should be by the end of this week or the first of next week. Can I get an "OH YAH"!?!?!?! Best case scenario would be for us to hit the ground running and that is exactly what we are going to try and do. Unfortunately, thats where the crazy part comes in. WeTendBar, which as most of you know is our other venture, has taken off and is in the process of "kicking our butts"!!! We are so grateful to all of you who have used our service. We never expected the response we have gotten.
But I digress, this is one reason that we may have to start slowly and work our way up. If anyone knows anyone who is in a band or if you are in a band and would like talk about possibly playing at our venue, please let us know. Contact us through our website, www.sparklingacreseventcenter.com and do a contact submission with your info and we will get back with you to discuss the particulars.
The most recent pics that are posted are "not" the most recent. With the advent of the new 1400 sq. ft. red oak dance floor, we have also just finished a 620 sq. ft. stage with a dedicated 200 amp power source. We have tweaked and fine tuned some of the things in the hall and eventually we will have it where we want it. It just all takes some time.
Hopefully we will be able to keep up with this blog better than we have to help keep everyone informed. We will try and post pics and reviews of future events, and a calendar of upcoming events on the website, so check it out.
Thanks for the good feedback from all of you and hope to see you in the future!!!

Adding new hallway for the Men's Restroom...

When we first saw the building we thought it was a storage shed, when in fact, after looking inside it was discovered it was a bathroom in need of some serious TLC. After repairing the floors, painting and tiling the floors it was decided that it would be the best thing to incorporate the outdoors bathrooms into the building. Thus, the beginning of the hallway. The existing deck style walkway is the foundation of this project. This is the first wall that runs lengthwise to the building. The second wall actually gives the hallway a shape. We had to pull the siding and the window out of the last bathroom to be able to connect the wall, but as you can tell be the last pic, the window found a home. With the walls up and the roof beams in, the next step is the roof and the siding. Once thats done, we can begin on the inside. We will keep you posted with the progress.
